The other morning I caught this Piliated Woodpecker digging a huge hole in one of our pilings.It's finally feeling like spring around here, the sun has been shining and the temperture is rising. I cant wait for summer.
Wow , amazing photos, working that fast, I bet its now brain dead but has really strong ankles? :o)) is it making a nest or searching for bugs? difficult to say, I guess. I thought that the Longhorn beetle was destructive enough but at that rate you wouldn`t want one as a pet. no sign of beavers yet?

Yes I am quite enjoying that little banger. Gosh how he makes a racket sometimes.
